The BEER Essentials

There are four ingredients in our beer: water, malted grain, hops and yeast. No preservatives or chemicals are used to maintain freshness. Our beer is fresh because we brew in small batches and serve it only when it is ready.

All of our ales are made from malted barley and, when required, wheat. This makes them more flavorful than most mass-produced beers. Many large domestic breweries use filler grains to lighten body and lower costs. We do not. Rice and corn belong in food, not beer.

Our beers are not filtered. We use the natural filtering process called time. Over time, the particulates that make beer cloudy settle out of the tanks naturally with gravity.

You are supposed to get bitter beer face. Yes, beer is intended to be bitter. It counteracts the natural sweetness of the malted barley. The bitterness comes from hops and hops are yummy!

"Born on" dating is a marketing scam. Although an American light lager's flavor is so delicate that it can deteriorate over time, our beer actually gets better with age. Our beer is aged for at least 21 days before it is served. This allows for the beers to attain their natural clarity and makes the beer taste its best. Some people actually cellar fine ales like wine. UV light and air are a beer's worst enemies. Our ales see neither of these until they leave the tap.

Beer is very rich in vitamins. Guinness did a study and found that if you drink about 50 glasses of beer a day you will get all of your recommended amounts of nutrients.

Although the prospect of this sounds heavenly, we do not recommend this volume of consumption.

Cheers!

Over forty years ago, Bob and Grace Milton were inspired to name a restaurant after a song they fancied.

Yes, it's true, the name Misty's was coined from the Johnny Matthis classic Misty.

So, in keeping with what appears to be a winning tradition, we have decided to name our beers in the same manner.

Some of the songs you may know, some are a little more obscure.

All of them represent little points of history along the timeline of our lives and that of Misty's.

Mick's Satisfaction Wheat Beer

A light, American-style wheat beer. Malted wheat gives this beer a smooth fruity flavor. Served with a lemon slice.

Stonehenge Orange Wheat

Our wheat beer infused with coriander seed and orange peel to add an unique, spicy flavor. Served with an orange slice.

Bohemian Rhapsody Pilsner-styled Ale

Although brewed with an ale process, this pilsner is light and crisp, with just the right amount of hop flavor.

MacManus's Red Shoes Altbier

A rich, malty, dark blonde ale made with German hops and many styles of malt. A smooth, flavorful brew.

Misty's Mountain Hops India Pale Ale

A deep copper-colored, full-flavored brew. Slightly more hop flavor than most pale ales. Extra hops enhance the flavor and aroma.

Thick as a Brick Stout

Our darkest brew. Roasted flavor is mellowed by adding oats and flaked barley. Various types of malt make this a well-rounded brew.
